Posted Tuesday, December 1, 2020 @ 5:06 PM The Student Academic Resource Center (SARC) would like to invite students to take advantage of the many academic support services available through SARC, including Study Union. Study Union is a partnership between SARC and the Student Union that will bring 86 live test review sessions to students via Zoom during final exam week. Attached you will find SARC’s Fall 2020 Final Review Schedule with information about connecting students to our livestreamed Study Union sessions. Students must register to participate in the virtual sessions through the links provided on the schedule. Registration can be completed in advance, or students can register and drop-in on the day of the session. All sessions indicated on the attached schedule will be live streamed and recordings of those sessions will also be available to view on the Study Union WordPress site once the session is complete. The academic coaches will be in the sessions to answer questions related to study skills and test preparation, and provide motivation and accountability. Coaches will also be there to place students in breakout rooms with other students if requested. The Virtual Study Lounge is available Mondays from 4-6PM, Tuesday from 2-4PM, and Wednesdays from 11AM – 1PM. A meeting ID and passcode is required to enter the Study Lounge. Details are included on the attached flyer. The Academic Coaching & Engagement (ACE) Program offers students one-on-one virtual sessions through Zoom with a peer academic coach. The coach and the student work collaboratively to assess the student’s academic needs. The student will leave the session with at least one new learning strategy that they can immediately implement into their academics to make an improvement. The student leads the session, but topics covered include time management, study skills, text anxiety and test prep, motivation, and goal setting. The Online Instructional Peer Coaching (OIPC) Program also provides one-one-one support to UCF students. Coaches guide students on how to navigate and be successful in an online courses.
